Chui Huey Lin (醉花林)@ Keng Lee Road

It was my sister's birthday, and her being super chinese-y...decided to ask the entire family to go for a traditional teochew restaurant, that is bound to please the elders and make it children friendly too...

I actually do like to eat chinese food....but just that in Singapore, unlike in mainland china, nobody drinks while eating...which makes it a little boring.

But the food is great nonetheless. Very delicate and all the dishes are yummy...the portions are big too, and make it a very worthwhile place to eat. I give thumbs up for this.

This place is a little tough to find, tucked somewhere in Newton, do make your reservations coz its often fully booked.

Jumbo Group

The Decor is very modern and pretty nice

Kung Fu tea to start the meal

Fatty meat jelly - I personally don't eat this, but my old-school mum swears that its damn nice.

Deep fried meat roll with liver - this is amazing, without the smelliness of liver dishes, quite light and tasty at the same time

Fish maw soup - very very delicious too

Suckling pig - needs pre-ordering , and very very good. Skin is completely crispy...a thin sliver of fat underneath, that melts in your mouth.......

Teochew dishes are all about steaming - the fish meat was very yummy and well done. My sisters did pick on the pickle veges, which they felt was not soft enough.

Eight Treasures Luo Han Zhai with Conpoy - this is just darn delicious, conpoy was good, they have Fa Cai,mushrooms and cabbage underneath was just amazing. The brown sauce is divine.

Deep Fried Duck - Another seemingly weird combination that turn out sooo tasty.

Fried Kuey Tiao with Kailan - this is crazy good and crazy yummy. Must order!

Teochew Mee Sua - though not as nice as the fried Kuey Tiao above, its still yummy.
