Taku @ Elgin Street Central

I have been to Taku once when it first opened and was not particularly impressed, but a second visit with the right dishes ordered changed my mind completely....The soya sauce is really nice and deeply flavoured..and everything with soya sauce from teriyaki to salad dressing has a special tangy taste to it...nice.. a little expensive though.. the ambience is actually a very nice izakaya ambience type of restaurant..

The name of the shop

Sashimi salad - nice soya/yuzhu sauce mix

Tofu & tomato in soya sauce dressing

wasabi octopus - luv!

Spider maki -slightly glazed with their signature soya sauce

grilled beef with loads of that nice soya sauce

Teriyaki Cod -luv luv

SML @ Times Square CWB

SML is quite a nice concept because it allows people to do tasting in the restaurants and provides people with the ooportunity to try many different kinds of food. But, I am not impressed...the food has not much special quality to it, I think any italian/french restaurant in Soho beats this place. The upside is that the desserts are not bad, maybe it is just a place for desserts..? They also have an unbeatable cocktail - caramel champagne.....

SML Menu

Octopus antipasti dish - ermmm the octopus is really quite tough...

Caesar Salad - a little strange, but normal tasting

Pate Bruschetta - this is pretty interesting, knowing my passion for all animal fat.:)

Meatballs, octopus and pate bruschetta - the meatballs aren't bad..but it is a bit dry, I still do prefer the meatballs from Post Publico.

My Small Main dish - Grilled cod with carrots strips in pesto sauce. Sauce, and Cod are normal...not amazing..and the carrot strips are just kinda plain bizarre.

Mango Meringue - yum!

Cream chous with caramel!!

Molten chocolate cake.:)

Chocolate mousse - I can't remember the name..but it is really smooth and nice..

Hama - K11 mall TST

It was a hot steamy Sunday afternoon, and I decided to try Hama with a friend who used to live in Japan. Hama's Lunch set serves sashimi bowls....The standard of food is really great for Hong Kong, Sashimi is really fresh, and I must say the vegetables used in the salads are really fresh too. The only peeve, is that the soba is really just so -so....Otherwise, for the price and quality of food, it is very very well worth the visit...I would want to go there again if I step into TST.

Restaurant Logo

Doesn't look like anything, but the vegetables is really fresh with a dash of yuzhu soya sauce as salad dressing

Lovely 3 coloured sashimi bowl - salmon, tuna and hamachi! I love also the ikura and shrimp roe on top...

My friend's dish - seafood bowl - lovely fresh sashimi, and really beautiful presentation

Chawan Mushi - not too bad

Soba dish - its so so, but nice to end a meal with some carbo....
