Myung Ga @ Taikoo Shing

I had Korean BBQ on a cold winter's night a few months ago....and totally loved it. I haven't been to Korea so I was not sure if it is the real deal...but loved the kimchi pancake..and love the BBQ beef....
and as always, the Koreans always have the servings of good mini tapas before the actual meal filled with vegetables and chillis....

Myung Ga is just close to my office, I would say its alright, not the best Korean food that I have tasted...but alright for a not so crowded place...a better place would be Kaya..where the food seems more layered and sophiscated.

Tapas - pumpkin

Tapas - Kimchi

Tapas - assorted

Tapas - spicy salad

Kimchi Pancake - I always like, must order

BBQ - its good but not great

Stir- Fried Vermicelli- quite nice but too oily

Chang Won Korean Restaurant

Trying out new restaurants in TST, and yes, there are many many Korean restaurants around that area. This one isn't particularly good, and the interior looks a bit sad and musty. The only highlight is their Korean pancake, which is crispy and delicious...due to the lack of Korean customers there...I concluded that this is not really the real deal.

the name of the restaurant

Again - the appetizers 12 of them in total!

Bibimbup - looks great, but actually not so tasty

grilled mackerel -but not too good either

This is really good - only the seafood pancake is delicious

soup- I find the style a bit too chinese

Kaya Restaurant ( next to Time's Square)

This is the restuarant, that all my friends' Korean friends thought  was authentic and delicious. And frankly, I am not a big meat lover, but the meat is sweet..... nice meaty sweet, and the big pot noodles at the end, just delicious. It must be one of best Korean Restaurants in Hong Kong, the kimchi is decent but not fantastic, but they have a array of nice Korean Shochu and sake.....so good for a cold winter night!

Any decent Korean restaurant will need to serve you at least 6 amuse-bouche dishes

Korean Seafood Pancake -not bad at all

This is the highlight - grilled pork, grilled beef and grilled chicken, nice meaty meat! very very good grilled meat

This is also another of my favourite Korean dish- stir fried vermicelli

Rice cakes with spicy sauce - Korean rice cakes are kind chewy

BuBimBup?

big hotpot noodles with loads of thin pork slices, sinful but so lovely..

My bowl of noodles......:)
