Hanagushi @ LKF

This place is a secret place when I have no place to recommend to eat. Not particularly crowded, not extremely expensive, food is not bad, pretty ok range of sake, close to LKF...what else can you ask for. The Japanese food is not really the authentic type...it is probably more closer to a north american Japanese restaurant, but it is a pretty good place for a big group of people..to make merry..and yes behave like teenagers...:)

Sputini @ Star Street

Sputini was recommended by friend of mine, who is an absolute gourmet......I went there, and found very very well done pastas, very interesting amuse-bouche, and an overall pleasant experience....even though it came after a night of hard core partying......great lunch set...really worth it.

SangKee , 107-115 Hennessy Road

I had my office dinner party there, and we finished 90 bottles of beers...till the restaurant ran out of beer...anyway, this is good old cantonese food at its rawest form. No reservation, no niceties, just uncle waiters serving a range of old time customers. This is a real Hong kong establishment, for those in the know...I like the food very much, there is an authenticity to it, which you don't find in many new Chinese restaurant. You can definately taste the wok-hei here.

The stuff that makes the soup

the soup - I don't know what it is called!

carp meat patties - this is the best i have ever tasted so far

Deep fried eggplants with chilli and garlic - yum

Salt roasted chicken

Salt and scallion big head prawns

Gu lo Yok

Lotus root with braised pork kunckles

potato leaves with pig's liver

Minced meat with Choy Sum

Hakata Dojo Hotpot at TST Fern Center

What better activity than to eat hotpot in winter.....these days Hong Kong is too cold...and Hotpot just sounds good. This one is made of ...beef offal...yes did I say that I was a big fan of offal..? The soup base taste like a thick miso ramen soup base...very flavourful..but a tad salty though. The other dishes are very good and interesting too. I guess this being Kyushu cusine is something a little bit special. Its a place that I would definately go again!
