Simplicity@Wynham Street

I was going there one day after pottery class with a friend of mine....it looks like a nice little hangout for a mid-afternoon, post lunch light snack.....Simplicity is famous for selling crepes...ok they are not galettes bretonnes with the full butter flavour and dark rye flour.....but they are pretty good too.....we ordered fish fingers too ( my personal sin) ...not too bad for a light snack..but the variety of dishes served probably won't suffice for a main meal.

This is the Peking Duck Crepe I ordered...great combination, I love the sauce!

Fish & Chips ! Ultra brainless but always good

The prices are not expensive compared to other places in the same stretch...yes I will go back there again!

The White Rabbit At 39C Harding Road

Tucked in the middle of Dempsey area, the place feels like you have entered into a mysterious charming scene from 'Alice in Wonderland'. Western food in Singapore is never really really good....mainly due to lack of fresh ingredients, this place does food with a French twist, it is good in fact but mind-blowingly good..and the ambience is really to die for....only Singapore have exciting places like this!!

Maxims Restaurant @ City Hall

Dim Sum Blog again! I admit that I do like dim sum a lot, not very good for my cholestrol count...but certainly makes my day, and makes for good long conversations with friends...this time, the famous Maxims' restaurant at City Hall, four of us waited an hour for a table! It could be the wait that made the dim sum taste so good...they really do their traditional dim sum well!( even though service is crappy......make sure you are there before 11am...its a very long wait if you come after...)

Eggplant with stuffed meat - the brown sauce is actually black bean sauce and very very tasty..

Prawn roll in beancurd skin with oyster sauce - not too bad..but really exciting either

Pied du poulet - well done, delicious..

Banyan Garden Chinese Restaurant @ Wesley Hotel CWB

Yeah...this is another dim sum blog! There have been a few dim sum restaurants that I have blogged about...Dim Sum in Hong Kong is very very competitive...each dim sum restaurants usually serves up pretty good dim sum ( compared to Singapore) and will have their own house specialities..This one in Wesley Hotel is recommended by a local...not a lot of long queues...sufficiently reasonable and well-done dim sum..and their specials seems to be ShunDe dishes...we tried the Shunde fishcakes which was great..but the other cantonese dishes seemed normal...

Shrimp rice rolls

Shunde Fish cakes - these are yummy...not the usual sad fried carp cakes..
