Todamgol Korean Restaurant @ Neil Road

Sunday night dinner with my girlfriend, and yes we ended up in this place....I thought the decor was fairly interesting , and have been going through a korean phase ......and there we go.

Is it good korean food , in my tropical little mind, I quite like the taste of it all.
Is it mind-blow korean food, very tasty but not mind-blowing lah....

and I am in love with markooli...their version of shandy.

Good variety of amuse-bouche dishes.

Markooli, margooli - dun know the exact spelling, but loved the taste

Buckwheat cold noodle

Kimchi Stew

BBQ ribs

Manando's Malay Restaurant @ Kandahar Road

High class traditional malay food , not indonesian food, but malay food.
The taste was subtle and wild and passionate at the same time. The only peeve - the service was really really slow, though there was tons of stuff to entertain the kids...

Though I did not order the dish, the nasi lemak seemed to be extremely popular.
Its a bit pricy, but the flavours there are rather unique.....

This kind of papadum look-a-like tibits really got me there....loved it.

Fish curry - interesting flavour

Curry Tempe with french beans - very spicy, but very delicate curry

This is a wild vegetable dish - which I thought that it will be amazingly exotic and delicious....well, the vegetables did taste a bit raw....though I appreciate the sambal....

Immigrants @ Joo Chiat Road

One Friday night, had a dinner with a couple of close friends of mine, and ended up in Joo Chiat Road. Not the most happening of places, but seems like a very interesting joint.

They serve peranakan tapas - yes, interesting concepts. Food was yummy on top to boot, and it come with a big selection of exotic beers. :)

Stuffed Chicken Wing - 5 is too small a portion

Buah Kalau fried rice - with this sort of name, how can it not taste good?

Otak Otak

Roasted Pork in some peranakan style - pardon my poor iphone 4 resolution, but it was very yummy.
